One Page Website Design, Logo and Branding Brief
The project brief from Eddie Devlin was to design and develop a one page website on which he could not only set out his services but also provide an online demo.
As Eddie describes himself, he is a Liverpool born and bred singer and guitarist. He provides a diverse range of covers in his sets but his one true passion is the Beatles. A lifelong passion with the Beatles has lead him to become the master of the guitar he is today. As part of the website design brief, Eddie wanted to highlight his passion for the Beatles and his amazing tribute nights as part of his entertainment packages.
The project brief also covered branding and logo design. Eddie was keen to keep the branding low key, simple but stylish.
Logo and Branding
Nothing says simple but stylish like black. The majority of high end brands opt for mainly black in their branding with a bit of colour to distinguish it from the other brands.
So we took inspiration from these high end brands and went with a stylish glossy black, using deep purple as an accent colour on the website and keeping it simple with silver and a hint of purple for the business cards.
The logo itself is a representation of the singer and guitarist with just the outline of the guitar coupled with an old fashioned microphone to reflect the quirky side of Eddie's entertainment.
Logo Concept Work
We had a lot of fun with this website, not to mention having the demo playing on loop while we worked, for inspiration.
The website consist of a long scroll one page. Each section of the page separately defined by background colours or images.
It was also part of the brief to provide a section for a video. To keep load time down, the video is hosted on YouTube and then embedded into the page.
Our favourite part of the project though was creating the custom icons to represent the various aspects of Eddie's entertainment.
